Fería de Jerez Flamenco Camp – May 17-22, 2015

Fusako-jerez-cropCome experience the Fería de Jerez – one of the best ferias in Spain!  Enjoy the horses, the city in full festival, dress up flamenca style and dance sevillanas and bulerias.

This Flamenco camp takes place in Jerez de la Frontera, Andalucía – the birthplace of Flamenco. Visit the oldest flamenco neighborhoods, bodegas (wineries), and see dancing equestrian horses – and all only 15 minutes from the nearest beach.  Come and fully immerse yourself into southern Spanish culture!

  • 5 days of intensive dance classes with cante and guitar
  • 3 hours/day- technique and choreography
  • Palos: bulerias, tientos, siguiriyas

The camp starts off with a delicious paella dinner to welcome you the first night, and ends on the last night with a juerga tapas party.

Jerez is the “cuña” or cradle of Flamenco. Gypsy neighborhoods FlamencoCamp-Jerezwith ancient traditions and reputations, such as Santiago and San Miguel, have given not only Jerez, but the world, some of the highest quality Flamenco artists. Flamenco Beach Camp – July 8-14, 2018

FlamencoCampClassEnjoy a week on the beautiful beaches of Cádiz, Spain, breathing in the natural beauty of the Andalusian scenery.  This camp take places in Los Caños de Meca, a beach town on southern Spain’s spectacular Costa de la Luz (Coast of the Light). You´ll understand why they call it so when you see the illuminating views. Flamenco Beach Camp has a tradition of enjoying a wonderful glass of spanish wine while watching the sunset on Playa Zahora (see photos of previous camps) followed by roaring applause when the sun finally go to sleep.

Spend the afternoon sightseeing – going to the Pueblos Blanco, horseback riding on the beach, visiting the Rock of Gibraltar, or going to flamenco tablaos in Vejer, Conil, Cádiz and Jerez!  And don’t forget all the spanish markets with great buys on clothes, flamenco shawls, peinetas, earrings and more.

Camp Class Descriptions

BAILE : Intensive Technique and choreography – letras and escobillas, and structure of the dance. Enjoy being in a smaller class (5-8 students), with more individual attention, working as well on palmas/compas with guitar and cante. Students will be able to work on soloing, achieving more confidence.

GUITARRA: Technique and accompanying dance and cante. One on one attention, molded study plan for each student as well as working with dancers and cante, learning specific falsetas for the choreography done with the dancers.

CANTE: Structure of cante letras, working compas, and palmas, accompanied by guitar, individual help.
